This study aims to find early signs of COPD in adults who have a high risk of this condition. Researchers will compare results from questionnaires, lung tests, and other tests in people who smoke and in people who do not smoke to look for factors that predict which people will develop COPD. Are you a woman 18 years old or older who has been diagnosed with LAM? This study is examining whether long-term treatment with medicine called sirolimus can stop lung damage in women who have LAM. This study takes place at multiple locations in the United States.

Are you between 14 and 22 weeks pregnant, and think that you might have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) ? This study is testing whether using CPAP to treat obstructive sleep apnea in pregnant women can help lower the risk of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old. This study takes place in multiple locations in the United States.

Are you an adult who has been diagnosed with sleep apnea, prediabetes, and overweight or obesity? This study aims to understand how sleep apnea raises the risk of diabetes. The study will test whether treating sleep apnea with medicines or continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) helps lower the risk of diabetes in people who have prediabetes. To participate in this study, you must be 20 to 65 years old. This study takes place in Chicago, Illinois.

Are you an African American adult with type 2 diabetes? This study is testing whether mindfulness meditation can help reduce stress and improve sleep. Participants will attend eight meditation classes in person or online and will receive regular text messages to remind them to practice meditation techniques at home. DIVA is a pragmatic randomized clinical trial (RCT) to determine: among (P) preterm infants born 24-27 6/7 weeks gestation undergoing extubation from mechanical ventilation, whether (I) Non-invasive neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NIV-NAVA) (C) compared with Non-synchronized nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NS-NIPPV), will reduce the incidence of (O) extubation failure within (T) 5 days (120 hours) of extubation.

This is an observational - data and specimen collection study. There have been increasing reports of vaping-induced lung injury, including severe lung injury and rare cases of death. The mechanism by which vaping contributes to lung injury in susceptible persons is unknown, as is impact on chronic lung disease. The investigators aim to identify individuals with chronic electronic nicotine delivery device (ENDD) exposure and matched controls within our ongoing cohort of HIV+ and HIV-uninfected individuals, collect PFT data, bank respiratory and stool samples and collect clinical data for studies of clinical risk, inflammation, biomarkers, and the microbiome in the identification and modification of risk of progression to lung injury or chronic pulmonary disease.

The purpose of this study is to non-invasively characterize the fibrotic consequences of single ventricle physiology, its possible solution and effect on lymphatics. This project investigates the response to acute imposition of Fontan hemodynamics by examining the interrelationship between liver and cardiac fibrosis/dysfunction and lymphatic congestion along with a pilot trial of the antifibrotic agent, spironolactone, to prevent these consequences and to determine if MRI can discern these differences. The combination of serum biomarkers and MRI form a powerful non-invasive tool in putting together this complicated web of dysfunction.

Do you or your child have Friedrich's Ataxia? This study is looking into a supplement in the form of vitamin B3 plus exercise can help the body better use oxygen for people with Friedrich’s Ataxia.
