Are you between 65 and 85 years old and are a patient at Stanford? This study will evaluate the effect of an electronic health record (EHR) screening tool on rates of new noninvasive testing, diagnosis, and treatment of peripheral artery disease (PAD) over a 6-month period. The EHR-based screening tool will generate a group of patients at the highest risk of having undiagnosed PAD to participate in the study. To participate in this study, you must be between 65 and 85 years old, have at least 1 year of data with the Stanford EHR, and have no prior diagnosis of PAD. Has your child been treated for an asthma attack with an oral corticosteroid medicine in the last 12 months? A study team will recruit 60 teens and young adults (between 12 and 21 years old) with persistent asthma who are at high risk for future exacerbation. This study examines the contribution of interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β), a protein that is involved in the inflammatory response, in asthma flare-ups. This study takes place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Are you an adult with asthma, and do you want to help researchers understand how asthma may affect the brain health? This study is examining whether long-term asthma complications are associated with brain structure, function, or cognitive function. In people with asthma, allergens can induce airway inflammation, which activates several cell types that could negatively affect the brain over time. Results from this study may shed light on whether there is a connection between brain health and asthma. To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 50 years old. This study takes place in Madison, Wisconsin.

Are you an adult with severe asthma who plans to have bronchial thermoplasty treatment? This study is using a new imaging technique, called optical coherence tomography, to examine the airways in people with asthma before and after a treatment called bronchial thermoplasty. This treatment is minimally invasive and reduces asthma symptoms by using heat to shrink smooth muscle within the lungs. To participate in this survey, you must be between 18 and 60 years old. This study takes place in Boston, Massachusetts.
